Are You Making This Marketing Mistake In Your Business?

Thousands of advertising dollars are wasted everyday because the majority of marketing is dead wrong.

In the next 5 minutes, I’m going to reveal a costly marketing mistake and how to avoid it so you can reach your target audience without burning a hole in your pocket.

Let’s get to it.

Big Business and The Marketing Lie

The biggest companies in the world lie to you about marketing.

If you think about the ads we usually see on the TV, social media or hear on the radio, you might assume that’s great marketing…especially when you hear public feedback:

“Did you see that Coca-Cola Ad with the snowman? Spot on!”
“That language app with the owl…someone needs to give their marketing team a raise!”
“That ad was hilarious!”

So when you look at what the big players in your industry are doing it must be working, right?

Wrong.

Hundreds of thousands of people walk through a train station everyday, see the same ad on TV or hear the same ad on the radio…

…But how many of those people respond to the ad?

This is the problem with big business advertising and the mistake many business owners fall victim to.

You waste money when you put your message in front of uninterested people.

Sure, if you’ve got an excessive ad budget then it won’t hurt to lose some money here and there.

However, as a small business owner, when you spend any money on marketing you want to see a return on your investment.

The Key To Successful Marketing

Take everything you’ve been told about famous marketing campaigns and push it to the side.

Fame doesn’t pay the bills, solving problems for your target audience does.

So unless you have millions to blow on marketing, you ought to take a sniper approach and target the people who actually want to buy your product.

This is known as audience bias.

Audience bias refers to your majority audience, and identifying this group of people is the most important step of any successful marketing campaign.

How To Identify Audience Bias

I don’t care what you’ve heard about marketing, there is no product that appeals to everyone.

You want your ideal client to see your ad and think:

“Finally, someone who gets me! Someone who speaks my language”

One of the ways to identify audience bias is to “steal” from your competition.

Take a look at their reviews and see what their customers are saying.

What words do they use?

What’s their level of income?

Are they men or women? What’s their age range?

Do they share any personal values and beliefs?

The answers to these questions give you a look into the mind of someone who actively wants your product, saving you money and time.

Speaking To The Right People

We resonate with people who speak our language in some way, shape or form. This is the starting point of a potentially great relationship.

Identify the audience bias to get a sense of who your ideal client is and then communicate with them directly.

We reach people to the extent that we turn others away.

So if you want to increase the cash flow in your business, always focus on your primary audience.

With some background research and a few educated guesses you can identify this specific group of people…or we can do it for you.
