Remember the pandemic?
Well there’s a new one spreading fast. It’s called ‘Brain Rot’.
It’s killing businesses left and right, and yours could be next. That’s why, in the next few minutes, I’ll show you 3 simple ways to get rid of it and make more sales (and you don’t need ten booster jabs)
Let’s get into it.
The REAL Mental Health Problem
Look around.
There’s always something pulling at your attention.
TV. YouTube shorts. Instagram Reels. Tiktok videos.
24/7, 365. It’s endless.
We’re trained to switch focus from one thing to another, which means it’s almost impossible for your audience to focus on your message.
Fail to keep them interested and they’re gone.
On the bright side, you don’t need to be a pro writer to hold someone’s attention. In fact, it’s easier than you think…
3 Simple Ways To Keep Readers Glued To Your Content
- Break Up Your Text
You know that feeling when someone sends you a huge block of text?
”Aah…do I reeeallyy have to go through all this?”
If your content reads like a Game Of Thrones novel right off the bat, nobody’s going to sit through that.
Break up your text and make it easy to read.
Some sentences will be short and others long. Plus it’s great for catching the skimmers (more on that later)
- Simplicity Always Works
Complex words do many things, but they don’t make sales.
If a 12-year old can’t understand your writing, cut out the industry jargon and clever buzzwords because you confuse your reader.
And a confused reader does the worst thing possible:
Nothing.
Write like you speak. If you have to choose between being clever and selling, choose selling every day of the week (and twice on Sundays)
Pro tip: Read your writing out loud.
Notice the clunky or robotic parts…then scrap ‘em for something simple.
- Reel ‘Em Back In
Most people don’t read, they skim.
This is true.
If you don’t reel your reader back in, they’re gone. Back to doing whatever they wanted to before you caught their attention.
That’s why you have to keep them on the hook with intriguing subheadings.
Here’s a cheat code: always make your subheadings about THEM.
What are they struggling with?
What are they looking for?
How do you solve their problem?
Every subheading should give them a good enough reason to stick with you. Make them FEEL something…or you’ll never sell ‘em.
Not A Pro Writer? No Problem
The simple stuff works.
Cut the fluff, make your message easy for your readers and watch your sales numbers go up even if it’s a “slow period”.
